Solar panel repair in Los Angeles
Repairs on systems we didn't install. Tell us what you're seeing. You get a call, and the repair is priced before any work starts.
No visit until you say so.
A solar system tells you something is wrong in one of two ways. The monitoring app goes blank or shows less than it should, or a stain appears on a ceiling under the array. Either way, you describe what you're seeing, and you get a call.
Signs a system needs a look
- A fault light on the inverter, or no lights at all
- The monitoring app blank, or production down with no change in the weather
- A leak or a ceiling stain under a mount
- A solar breaker that keeps tripping
- Panels coated in dust and producing less than they did
The call comes first
We call within one business day. A blank app is often a dropped Wi-Fi connection, after a new router for example, with the panels still producing, so we go through that with you first. When a visit is needed, we arrange it with you.

Leaks under the array
A ceiling stain under solar panels usually leads back to a mount. The panels above it come off so the mount can be reset on new flashing, with the roofing around it set back. Then the panels go back on. On tile, the tiles at that mount are lifted and reset by hand, which is why a tile repair takes longer.
What we repair
- Failed microinverters and wall-mounted inverters, replaced with a current model where the original is out of production
- Leaks at old mounts
- Damaged wiring and connectors under the array
- Monitoring that has dropped off, reconnected to your Wi-Fi
- Panels cleaned where dust is costing production
What moves a repair price
- What failed, and whether it is still manufactured
- Whether the part is still covered by its maker, which can take it off the bill
- The roofing at the mount: tile takes longer to open and set back than shingle
- How many panels have to come off to reach the problem
- The height and pitch of the roof
Questions about repairs
Can you repair a system another company put in?
Yes, whoever put it in. Have the inverter make and roughly the year the system went in, and we start from there.
Is an old system worth repairing?
Often, when the panels are sound and the fault is the inverter or a mount: the inverter usually wears out years before the panels do. If the whole system is wearing out, we say so on the call, and you can ask for the repair and new panels priced side by side.
Can I send photos?
Yes. The form takes them, and texts with photos reach us at the same number. A photo of the inverter's screen, if it hangs on a wall, or a screenshot of the monitoring app tells us the most.
Can a battery go in while you're there?
Yes, priced on a line of its own. Solar batteries explains what it adds.
